Your ADC
|
The University of Cambridge has probably the best equipped and most professionally run university theatre in the country, and it is run and maintained entirely for your benefit as a student in Cambridge. The Amateur Dramatic Club is the resident company and owner of the ADC Theatre, which is leased to and run by the University. The Theatre runs roughly according to the University year - presenting eight or nine weeks of shows each term. Each week will see a Mainshow - from 7.45pm until roughly 10.30pm - followed by a shorter Lateshow from 11pm until midnight. Mainshows are full-length plays or musicals, ranging from Shakespeare to Barry Manilow, from Brecht to contemporary writing. Lateshows can be almost anything - comedy, short drama, dance, new writing etc. Almost all acting, design, technical and backstage work in these shows is done by students. |
